Borgess Ambulatory Care, in Kalamazoo, currently has a full-time Senior Physical Therapist position available at our outpatient setting at the Borgess Health and Fitness Center. The Senior Physical Therapist performs all the duties of a staff physical therapist, but in addition provides clinical leadership by assisting the site manager in various departmental/site and organizational functions. Aqua Therapy is also part of the outpatient dept. Aqua Therapy uses a dedicated warm water 30 x40 ft. therapy pool, services are five days per week of pool time within the hours noted above. Outpatient Neuro Rehab is also part of the outpatient dept. This is a separate, specialized work area that is utilized for the neurologically involved outpatient within the hours noted above. PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT
We are searching for a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team of Therapy professionals.
Status & Shift:
Part time, 32 hours per 2 week pay period, 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M. every weekend.
Position Summary:
Works under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Assists patients in achieving and restoring strength, endurance and coordination through a therapeutic program. Follows designated treatment protocol in application of all therapeutic modalities.
Required Education/Experience:
1. Possess Associates Degree in accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
2. Possess 1-3 months of related job experience.
3. Trained and educated in age-specific categories being served: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
4. Capable of spending 25-35% of time lifting, carrying, and moving items that weigh 25 pounds or more.
5. Ability to effectively communicate and present self to people in courteous, tactful and poised manner.
